Roza Otunbayeva speaks for recalling candidacies of judges giving rise to disaffection among the people. She stated this answering on questions of the journalists, 24.kg news agency reported.
According to her, they had interviews with applicants for the position of judge on August 13-14.
"Interviews are going on. As it is known the law envisages 10 working days for this formality so we have time until August 19. Everyone clearly understands the reforming of the judiciary is one of most topical issues of today," she said.
The head of the state stated that the public slams many judges.
"I have a task to choose the worthy judges. Unfortunately, results of interviews show that the level of competency of some judges doesn't correspond to the level of a judge of the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Chamber. Some of them were not able to answer on simple questions regarding to missions and functions of courts," emphasized Roza Otunbayeva.
According to her, she met with leaders of the Parliament's factions and other interested structures and departments and they discussed issues regarding to disaffection caused by the work of the Judges Selection Council.
"There is a lot of criticism to the Judges Selection Council. But its image has to be irreproachable; these people will select judges to the judiciary of the country," she said.
Roza Otunbayeva thinks that recalling candidacies of judges giving rise to disaffection and not approved by the president mustn't be submitted to the Parliament on approval.
She assured that candidacies having met objections will be returned to the Judges Selection Council.
