BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. The volume of loan portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector clients (excluding loans granted to banks and other financial and credit organizations) amounted to 201.1 billion soms ($2.3 billion), as of 31 January 2023, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
The figure decreased by 1.4 percent from 204 billion soms ($2.33 billion) on December 31, 2022.
Allocations in the banking field by sector:
Industrial sector –13.2 billion soms ($150 million), a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Agricultural sector – 36.1 billion soms ($412 million), a decrease of 2.5 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Trade –55.2 billion soms ($631 million), a decrease of 1.9 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Constriction – 12.6 billion soms ($144 million), a decrease of 2.3 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Mortgage – 24.2 billion soms ($276 million), a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Consumer loans – 33.2 billion soms ($379 million), an increase of 0.4 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Other loans – 26.6 billion soms ($304 million), a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to December 31, 2022.
The share of classified credits in Kyrgyz commercial banks amounted to 13.1 percent or 26.3 billion soms ($300 million) in the corresponding period, increasing over 12.8 percent or 26.1 billion soms ($298 million) in the end of 2022.
The volume of overdue loans amounted to 5.7 billion soms ($65 million), or 2.8 percent of the loan portfolio of the banking system, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the beginning of the year.
