Kyrgyzstan's exports to Uzbekistan on rise

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 20. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan reached $693.988 million in 2023, making up 4.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, Trend reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee shows that compared to 2022 figures ($599.254 million), trade increased by 15.8 percent.

Kyrgyzstan's exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $290.766 million, accounting for 8.8 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total exports. This represents a 22.9 percent increase compared to 2022 ($236.646 million).

Imports to Kyrgyzstan from Uzbekistan totaled $403.222 million, which is an 11.2 percent increase from 2022 figures ($362.607 million). These imports comprised 3.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.

Among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Uzbekistan ranked third in terms of trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan. Russia held the first position with $2.930 billion, constituting 18.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, while Kazakhstan held the second position with $1.317 billion, making up 8.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.660 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022 ($12.057 billion). The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year ($2.254 billion in 2022). Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than $9.803 billion in 2022.
