Trade turnover between Tajikistan, Georgia scales up

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 26. The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Georgia totaled $2.942 million in January 2024, which is a 9.3 percent increase compared to January of the previous year ($2.691 million), Trend reports.

Data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reveals that exports from Georgia to Tajikistan amounted to $2.833 million in the first month of 2024, increasing by 8.9 percent compared to January 2023 ($2.691 million).

Georgian reexports to Tajikistan amounted to $2.527 million during the reporting month, a decrease of 5.9 percent from January 2023 ($2.688 million).

Imports to Georgia from Tajikistan stood at $108,940 in January 2024. In the same month of the previous year, the trade between the two countries was solely comprised of Georgian exports.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Georgia amounted to $37.281 million in 2023, which marks a 62 percent increase compared to $22.923 million in 2022. Exports to Tajikistan reached $37.012 million, while imports amounted to $268,630.
