Chinese president Xi Jinping, who was on a state visit to Turkmenistan (September 3-4), invited his Turkmen counterpart Gurbalguly Berdimuhamedov to pay a state visit to China, a message from the Turkmen government said on Thursday.
"President Xi Jinping invited Turkmenistan's president to pay a state visit to the People's Republic of China at any convenient time," the message said.
Ashgabat and Beijing recently adopted a joint declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between each other.
According to the governmental message, Berdimuhamedov said that the two countries "are linked with history, favorable geographical location, respect for each other and similarity of views on major issues in global development".
Chinese companies participate in the Turkmen oil, gas, transport, telecommunication, textile, health and construction projects.
