Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan intend to facilitate import and export operations, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
This issue was discussed during a videoconference between Turkmenistan delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev and delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilhom Nematov.
The parties also considered the countries' trade and economic ties as well as the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the energy and water supply sectors.
Implementation of agreements which were reached during the last meeting of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was also reviewed during the online meeting.
The participants expressed their readiness to continue their partnership within the framework of international and regional organizations. In this regard, the countries' commitment to maintain peace, stability and security in the region and in the world was highlighted.
The sides also stressed the high level of cross-border cooperation between, including transport and communication and improvement of transportation and transit traffic conditions during the coronavirus pandemic.
