BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. In Turkmenistan, from January through February 2022, the volume of non-cash circulation of bank cards amounted to 1.7 billion Turkmen manats ($485.7 million), Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.

According to the Department of Banking Automation of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the total volume of cashless payments through terminals for the specified period amounted to 1.5 billion Turkmen manats ($428.5 million).

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of the Central Bank of the country, the amount of payments for this period through the E-Commerce system amounted to 78.8 million Turkmen manats ($22.5 million), and through the Mobile Bank system – 1.4 million Turkmen manats ($400,000).

The total amount of non-cash payments through ATMs amounted to 33.9 million Turkmen manats ($9.6 million), through the Internet Banking system – 175,900 Turkmen manats ($50,000 dollars).

In addition, according to the bank, cashless payments in the amount of 4.6 million Turkmen manats ($1.3 million) were made through the Halkbank Terminal system.

In general, the country's financial sector is constantly expanding. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to pay for various services and goods, the number of non-cash payments is increasing, and payment for goods and services is being implemented through banking terminals.
