BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Shakhym Abdrakhmanov held a business meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, who arrived in Ashgabat leading the Russian delegation, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sector, electric power, renewable energy sources, construction of gas infrastructure and preservation of environmental safety in the Caspian Sea.

The parties stressed that Russian companies offer their services in the field of modernization of the electric power system of Turkmenistan with the involvement of local contractors for the supply of equipment, and are also ready to participate in joint projects for the development of deposits in Turkmenistan.

The meeting was held within the framework of the Turkmen-Russian business forum, which takes place in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, from January 19 through 20.

Panel sessions of the forum are devoted to cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, industry, education, digital agenda, and other areas of interaction between companies of the two countries.
