(Kazakhstan today) - A group of experts is going to discuss a draft agreement on the associated CIS membership of Turkmenistan today, June 5, in Minsk, CIS Executive Committee has informed Kazakhstan Today.
The draft agreement has been prepared to register officially Turkmenistan as an associated member of the organization, reports Trend.
At the last expert meeting on this issue on 18 January, 2006, it was observed that the draft Agreement needed to be completed, in particular, in the parts concerning definition of co-operation within the CIS, in which Turkmenistan will participate.
Besides, a decision was made to offer to the CIS member states to define their positions concerning the proposition of the Russian side to work out a model draft agreement on the associated CIS membership.
