The Federal Service for Veterinary Surveillance and Phytosanitary Control in Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) allowed number of Uzbek companies to import tomatoes to Russia starting from March 3 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the decision was made under the guarantees of the State Plant Quarantine Inspection under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, as well as based on the results of laboratory tests for the absence of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) in the specified products of these companies.

Thus, the following Uzbek enterprises are allowed to import tomatoes to Russia:

- Tarakkiyot sari service MCHJ (Kashkadarya region);

- Kashkadaryo greenhouse tarakkiyot invest MCJ (Kashkadarya region);

- Saidazimkhon MCJ (Kashkadarya region);

- Zarafshon Grand Bulgaria MCHJ (Navoi region);

- Karmana Agrotrading LLC (Navoi region);

- Maftunkor Bakhor LLC (Navoi region).

It is noted that the import of tomatoes from the Navoi and Kashkadarya regions of Uzbekistan was prohibited on December 4 and December 11, 2020 due to the detection of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) in the products.

In addition, the Rosselkhoznadzor has banned the supply of tomatoes from the Fergana region of Uzbekistan since November 26, and then lifted restrictions on a number of companies.

In January 2021 it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor allowed the supply of tomatoes to Russia from 34 Uzbek enterprises.

The decision was made on the basis of information provided by the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
