Uzbekistan’s 1H2021 furniture production revealed

Some 5,779 furniture industry enterprises in Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 produced furniture products worth 1.1 trillion soums ($103 million), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee, the index of the physical volume of the network in comparison with the same period in 2020 amounted to one percent.

In particular, in January 2021 Uzbek enterprises produced furniture worth 109.5 billion soums ($10.3 million), in 2M2021 - 225 billion soums ($21 million), in 3M2021 - 473.2 billion soums ($44.5 million), in 4M2021 - 689.6 billion soums ($65 million) and in 5M2021 - 823.4 billion soums ($77 million).

It is reported that the largest share in the total volume of furniture products manufactured on a national scale fell on the city of Tashkent - 25.7 percent (1,331 enterprises of the furniture industry), Andijan region - 10.6 percent (567), Tashkent region - 9.4 percent (657).

In June the committee reported that Uzbekistan’s import of furniture products from January through April 2021 decreased by $5.6 million compared to the same period last year. It was noted that Uzbekistan imported furniture products from 46 countries in the amount of $25.7 million.

According to the information, in 4M2021 the largest volume of furniture products was imported by Uzbekistan from South Korea in the amount of $7.8 million, followed by China - $6.9 million, Russia -$2.7 million.

At the same time, Ukraine in 4M2021 exported furniture products to Uzbekistan worth $1.1 million, Kazakhstan – $570,500, Belarus – $564,100, Italy – $513,100, Poland – $308,300, Lithuania – $250,800, Germany – $170,900 and Singapore – $126,000.
