BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. Uzbekistan has published data on the number of small businesses and micro firms, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the Committee, as of January 1, 2023, the number of small businesses and micro firms in Uzbekistan stood at 523,556.

This figure increased by 13.1 percent or 60,722 units compared to the reporting period last year.

The number of small enterprises and micro firms (excluding farms) operating in Uzbekistan, by cities and districts:

Samarkand city of Samarkand region – 13,775;

Chilanzar district of Tashkent city – 13,458;

Yunusabad district of Tashkent city – 12,943;

Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city – 12 083;

Andijan city of Andijan region – 11,865;

Almazar district of Tashkent city – 10,831;

Namangan city of Namangan region – 10,657.

The Uzbek Government pays special attention to the development of small enterprises and micro firms in the country. In this regard, favorable conditions were created and benefits were also mitigated. As a result of the measures taken to further improve the entrepreneurship support system and improve the business climate, over the past six years, compared to 2017, the number of operating small enterprises and micro firms has increased by 293,890 or 2.3 times.
