Uzbekistan reveals its main importers of textile products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Russia was the main importer of Uzbekistan’s textile products from January through February 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the statistics, in the reporting period, Russia imported Uzbekistan's textile products worth $219.8 million – an increase of 21.7 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months of 2022 ($180.5 million).

The remaining importers were: Kyrgyzstan ($76 million), Türkiye ($72.3 million), China ($53.6 million), Kazakhstan ($12 million), Iran ($11.9 million), Poland ($11.4 million), Belarus ($8.5 million), Italy ($5.5 million), Tajikistan ($4.9 million), Ukraine ($4.1 million), Germany ($3.2 million), Egypt ($3.1 million), Azerbaijan ($2.9 million), etc.

From January through February 2023, Uzbekistan exported more than 460 types of textile products worth $501.8 million to 42 countries.

The statistics note that in the structure of textile exports, the main share is taken by cotton yarn (44 percent), finished textile products (41 percent), knitted fabric (8 percent), etc.

In 2022, trade partners of Uzbekistan imported textile products worth $3.1 billion. From January through December 2022, more than 552 types of Uzbek textile products were exported to 73 countries of the world.
