BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Russia sees a successful development of bilateral trade and economic relations with Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
Russia and Uzbekistan plan to develop cooperation in the fields of agriculture, the food industry, road construction engineering and pharmaceuticals, as a matter of priority.
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the countries are developing successfully. As evidenced from the increase in trade turnover by 26 percent in 2022, up to $8.7 billion.
So far, there was a positive dynamic registered in trade turnover between the two countries since the beginning of this year.
Mutual trade has grown by 4.2 percent, reaching $1.2 billion from January through February 2023. The current joint projects are being implemented to the fullest extent.
Meanwhile, as State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reports, Russia has invested 22.8 trillion soums (about $2 billion) in Uzbekistan's economy in 2022. Russia also was the largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan in 2022.
