Iran plans to establish domestic manufacturing of passenger planes, Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said at a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Fayez Ghosn in Tehran, IRNA reported.
"Iran has already established production of "Saiga" military aircraft, and "Iran 140" passenger plane," Vahidi added. "Right now, we plan to produce a smaller passenger plane for 50-100 people".
Vahidi noted that the work will be carried out by Iranian specialists.
Lebanese Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn arrived in Tehran on Saturday at the invitation of the Iranian Defense Minister. The sides discussed a number of issues, including the Israel related questions.
Earlier, Vahidi stressed the importance of the full support to protection of Lebanon against external threats and terrorism, and noted Lebanon should have a strong army to protect itself.
