If the July 24 Istanbul nuclear talks between Iran and the West are 'positive', the next meeting's time and place will be decided said the Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesman.

When Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1) met in Moscow for nuclear talks, said Ramin Mehmanparast, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, they agreed to schedule their next meeting after technical experts on both sides meet in Istanbul, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.

If the meeting between Helga Schmid, a top aide to the EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, and Ali Bagheri, the Islamic Republic's deputy nuclear negotiator is considered positive, then the details of the next session will be decided.

The P5+1 has spearheaded the diplomatic efforts to persuade Iran to limit its nuclear programme which Iran says is purely peaceful, while the UN and Western leaders suspect it of being for military purposes.

After 15 months' suspension, Iran and the P5+1group held the first round of new nuclear talks in Istanbul on April 14. Since then, the two sides have met in Baghdad and Moscow.
