Expert talks between Iran and the major world powers ended in Istanbul and the next step is a conversation between EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, says Ashton's spokesman Michael Mann.
"As foreseen in Moscow, the next step is that there will be a conversation between Mrs. Ashton and (Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeid) Jalili," Mann told the dpa.
Ashton represents the major powers (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, and France - plus Germany) in nuclear talks with Iran, Mehr news agency reported.
The last meeting between Iran and the major powers was held in Moscow on June 18-19 in Moscow.
