The 160-megawatt Hormoz Combined-Cycle Power Plant in Iran’s Hormozgan Province has been commissioned in the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone, said Mehdi Khabbazpisheh, director of private power plant projects at the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Iran’s Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri attended the inauguration of the plant.
Khabbazpisheh said the power plant was built in two years with the investments of the private sector and under the supervision of foreign observers.
He noted that 35-40 million euros have been spent for the construction of the plant.
The power plant will supply electricity to the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone and transmit additional electricity to the country’s grid when needed, he added.
