OSCE parliamentarians to debate energy security during Vienna meeting

(www.osce.org) вЂ" Energy security in the OSCE region will be one of the main topics of discussion during the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's (OSCE PA) meeting in Vienna on 22 and 23 February.

The sixth annual Winter Meeting will bring together some 250 parliamentarians from 52 out of 56 OSCE participating States. They will discuss current issues, and review the ongoing work of the Assembly in the fields of security, economic development and humanitarian affairs, reports Trend.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, created by the CSCE Summit in Paris in 1990, is the parliamentary dimension of the OSCE. The primary task of the 320-member Assembly is to facilitate inter-parliamentary dialogue.

The meeting will be addressed by a number of high-level officials, including the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Goran Lennmarker of Sweden, the President of the Austrian Parliament, Barbara Prammer, and OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut.
