By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran can meet 60-70 percent of the market needs in Tajikistan.
Rahman Pourqorban, the secretary of the association of Iranian industrial, mineral, and engineering exporters, said except for nanotechnology and advanced material products, Iran can meet demands of the entire market in Tajikistan, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on September 20.
Tajikistan can act as a gateway for Iran to boost presence in CIS, he added.
According to the Iran Customs Administration, non-oil trade between Iran and Tajikistan amounted to $267.3 million in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014.
Iran exported $248.4 million of non-oil goods to Tajikistan and imported $18.9 million of non-oil goods from the country.
