US dollar price was sold at 34,970 rials in Iran's free market today, compared to 34,390 rials on Thursday.

Euro also rose from 39,680 rials on Thursday to 39,900 rials today, while British pound fell from 53,650 rials to 53,550 rials, Mehr news agency reported on October 10.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Iran has put the official rates of US dollar, euro, and British pound at 29,955 rials, 34,025 rials, and 45,912 rials on October 10, compared to 29,957 rials, 33,720 rials, and 45,847 rials on October 8.

Iran's Central Bank Governor Valiollah Seif said in July that foreign currency exchange rates in the country will be unified 5-6 months after finalizing a deal with world powers on the country's nuclear program.

"The central bank's main responsibility is to prevent emotional shocks in the market, which is currently stabilized. However, currency rates may be lowered after the unification process takes effect," he said.
