By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

Oil output at Iran’s North Yaran oilfield will reach 30,000 barrels per day by September, said Arash Bagherzadeh, operator of the field’s development project at Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC).

He further said operations are underway for pre-commissioning of the oilfield, which is shared with Iraq, SHANA reported July 2.

Bagherzadeh also said the project for North Yaran oilfield’s development was complete by 85 percent by May 20.

North Yaran, as well as South Yaran, Yadavaran, South Azadegan and North Azadegan oilfields are five major fields located in Iran's southwestern province of Khuzestan close to the border with Iraq, and are shared with Iran's western neighbor.

North Yaran oil field is located approximately 130 kilometers west of the provincial capital city of Ahvaz. When the first phase of the field’s development is completely finished, it will produce 30,000 barrels per day of crude oil with the API (American Petroleum Institute) gravity between 16 and 18.
