Maku Free Zone Organization looking for investments to boost business

TEHRAN, Iran, July 22. Maku Free Zone (West Azerbaijan Province in Iran) is located on the International North-South Transportation Corridor (INSTC) route and is beneficial from the point of investments, Mohammadreza Abdolrahimi the Managing Director of Maku Free Zone Organization told Trend.

"The zone has easy access to cheap energy and has sufficient workforce, in addition to incentives that would make the investments justifiable," he said.

Maku Free Zone currently focuses on such business sectors as: logistics, transportation, agriculture, animal farming, tourism, mining, downstream industries.

According to the official, the organization will provide transparency and information to investors and businesses and takes steps to solve obstacles, boost the national economy and develop regional and international ties.

Maku is among the most newly established and also the largest free zones in the country with three countries six small towns and 261 villages. Maku Free Zone has 130 kilometers of common border with Turkiye and 140 kilometers of common border with Azerbaijan. The area is one of the richest free zones in Iran that connects the country to Europe via roads and trade with various countries.
