TEHRAN, Iran, July 26. Iran and Turkiye have agreed to improve infrastructures for trading electricity, said the Iranian Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Iran and Turkiye will connect power networks via infrastructures in Khoy-Van, Khoy-Bash Qaleh, and Bazargan-Dogubayazit, he said referring to the bilateral agreement between the two countries.
The power infrastructures will be connected by network synchronization, isolation procedure, and application of back-to-back HVDC system, he noted the methods used for connecting networks.
According to the official, the infrastructure in Khoy-Bash Qaleh will connect power networks by HVDC back-to-back method with a 600-megawatt transmission capacity that is expected to increase the power trade between the two countries.
Iran and Turkiye signed eight agreements during Turkish President Recept Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Tehran.
