Lightning kills Iranian woman

A woman was killed by a lightning strike in Iran's south western province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.
The lightning hit the 55-years old woman in the Darreh Shur district of Kohgiluyeh County last night, Alamdar Darkia, an official with the county's health organization said, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Oct. 18.
Thunderstorms in the region occurred following heavy rainfall.
Every year several people die in Iran in similar incidents.
