Chief of Georgian Frontier Police Appointed

Georgia, Tbilisi, 5 November / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Zaza Gogava, the chief of the United headquarters of Georgian Armed forces, was appointed the chief of Georgian Frontier police, the Defense Ministry.

The post of chief of Frontier police became vacant several days ago, when Badri Bitsadze, former chief of Frontier police, made a statement on his resignation on 29 October. Zaza Gogava headed the United headquarters since November, 2006. Giving testimonies to temporary parliamentary commission to study the events of August He undertook his share of responsibility in connection with the recent tragic developments in the country.

For the time being it is unknown who will replace Zaza Gogava at the post of head of United headquarters of Armed Forces.
