More than 40 people were killed and 120 injured in the explosion in the part of the city of Homs controlled by Syrian authorities, Reuters reported on Thursday with reference to the London-based "Syrian Monitoring Centre for Human Rights".
Armed conflict that has claimed lives of over 100,000 people has been ongoing in Syria since March 2011, RIA Novosti reported.
