( ForUm ) - Quantity of Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2008 will be reduced by 17 thousand of people, according to State program on Armed Forces development for 2006-2011.
The corresponding draft bill is approved by the Cabinet today.
"The draft bill was prepared in planned order and coordinated with Ministers and departments," the first deputy Defense Minister Leonid Polyakov said, the ForUm's correspondent informs.
Polyakov noted that the State program on development of Armed Forces of Ukraine was adopted in 2005 and foresees definite dynamic rates in financing, changes in quantity, structures changes and other issues.
According to Polyakov, in 2007 quantity of Armed Forces of Ukraine comprises 200 thousand of persons. In 2011 the quantity must be reduce to 143 thousand. Ukrainian army to be reduced by 17 thousand
