Three siblings killed by lightning in Peru

( dpa ) - Three siblings were killed by lightning in the Peruvian region of Ancash, 420 kilometres north of Lima, police said Tuesday.

Regional police said the incident happened Monday as the victims were working in the fields in the village of Patapata, in the province of Yungay.

A large portion of the Peruvian territory has been suffering heavy rains for days, leading to mudslides and floods in some areas.

Nestor Eugenio, 19, Daniel Armando, 20, and Ida Azucena, 11, all members of the Sanchez Barroso family, were killed by the electric charge along with three horses.
