Three people have been killed and dozens injured in Indian-administered Kashmir during protests against the handover of land to a Hindu pilgrimage site, police said Thursday.
Demonstrators in the Muslim-majority state hurled stones at police, who responded with teargas in the capital, Srinagar, the dpa reported.
The demonstrators were opposed to plans to give land to a Hindu organization which administers the Sri Amarnath cave, one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Kashmir.
