German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier departed for a two-day visit to Sweden and Norway on Sunday.
Steinmeier is expected to meet for talks with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt and Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr- Storeб, the dpa reported.
A spokeswoman for the German Foreign Ministry said that it was expected that the situation in Georgia would be discussed.
The contribution of the international community to a lasting solution to the conflict would be high on the agenda, the spokeswoman said.
On Tuesday, Steinmeier is due to travel to Brussels for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
