United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-moon, speaking at the Arab League summit in Qatar Monday, called on Sudanese authorities to re-admit humanitarian aid groups expelled from Sudan earlier this month, reported dpa.

"I urge the Sudanese authorities to withdraw this decision," Ban said. "Relief efforts should not be politicized."

Sudan expelled 13 international aid organizations soon after the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague issued an international arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on March 4.

Al-Bashir is alleged to have been complicit in crimes against humanity in his government's battle against rebels in Sudan's western region of Darfur.

The Sudanese leader was attending the Arab League summit.
