US, Russia sit down in Geneva for nuclear talks

Talks resumed in Geneva Tuesday between US and Russian officials in an attempt to reach on agreement on mutual nuclear arms reductions, DPA reported.

According to a US diplomat, the talks are set to continue with no definitive time table.

The two major nuclear powers aim to nail down a follow up deal to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty from 1991, which expired last year.

Negotiations have been ongoing since early last year, with both sides indicating many key issues have been solved, but that some sticking points remain.
