Тwo US soldiers were killed in an attack carried out by insurgents in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, the US military said in a statement, DPA reported.
The statement gave no further details.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
More than 2,000 US soldiers from the international contingent stationed in Afghanistan have been killed since the US-led invasion to oust the Taliban in 2001.
The iCasualties.org website, which keeps track of the number of foreign troops killed, says 268 US soldiers have been killed this year and gives 2,132 as the overall number since 2001.
