Police in the eastern province of Bitlis on Saturday seized 51.5 kilograms of heroin, Anadolu Agency reported.
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped and searched a car on the Bitlis-Diyarbakir inter-city highway, finding the haul stashed in special compartments of the car.
The driver of the car was taken under custody.
In a separate operation in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Saturday police seized 234 kilograms of hashish in a truck, detaining its driver.
