Turkish Foreign Minister: We hope that political reforms will be held in Syria soon

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a press conference after his visit to Syria, CNN Türk reported.

Responding to journalists' questions, Davutoglu said that Turkey closely monitors the situation in Syria and hopes that very soon the country will be held on political reform.

"We hope that as a result of these reforms the bloodshed will be stopped. Turkey closely monitors what is happening in Syria", - said Davutoglu.

Today, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited Syria. During his visit he met with Syrian President Bashar Assad. The meeting lasted more than six hours.

More than 800 people were killed in many cities during the clashes with Syrian police and army, when people demanded President Bashar al-Assad's resignation. According to authorities, this figure does not exceed a hundred. Furthermore, the dead were not civilians but rather members of terrorist groups.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain recalled their ambassadors from Damascus in protest to events in Syria.
