By Anastasia Savchenko – Trend:

Turkish companies “Naturel Yenilenebilir Enerji” (NATEN) and “Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret ve Sanayi A.S.” have signed an agreement on the purchase and sale of 20 solar power plants with total installed capacity of 22.35 megawatts, Trend reports referring to Turkish media.

The first installment of NATEN is $1 million, according to the report.

“Out of 20 solar power plants, nine are in Nevsehir city, six in Yozgat city, two in Bilecik city, three in Afyonkarahisar city,” the report said. “Electricity generated by them will be sold for 10 years with a purchase guarantee of 13.3 cents per kilowatt-hour. It is expected that the net profit from these power plants will be about $4.1 million.”

NATEN has notified the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) about the conclusion of this agreement.

Earlier, Turkish former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak said that in total, Turkey plans to invest $1 billion in the development of renewable energy sources.

The construction of new power plants will increase Turkey’s energy security, Albayrak added.

“A new project for development of renewable energy sources will provide about 3,750 people with jobs,” the former minister said.
