Turkey reveals cargo traffic via local ports from Algeria for January 2022

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish ports from Algeria in January 2022 amounted to 747,165 tons, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting month, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 22,851 tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – 431,976 tons from Algeria to the Turkish ports.

At the same time, ships flying the Algerian flag delivered 292,338 tons of cargo to the ports, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, 81,197 tons of cargo from Algeria were transited through the Turkish ports.

Totally, more than 33.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in January 2022.

During the reporting period, 2.4 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag.

At the same time, around 30.9 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports.

Moreover, 7.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period.

In 2021, Turkey's ports totally handled 386.3 million tons of cargo, and freight traffic by ships flying the Turkish flag through domestic ports amounted to 29.9 million tons.

Besides, last year, cargo transportation via the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of other countries totaled 356.3 million tons, and the cargo transit volume made up 78 million tons.
