BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. The Turkish port of Gemlik transshipped 3.3 million tons of cargo from January through March 2022, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, 262,011 tons of cargo was transported by ships under the flag of Turkey through the port of Gemlik, and 3.09 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Gemlik handled 64,299 tons of transit cargo in 1Q2022," the ministry said.
The ports of Turkey handled 24.1 million tons of cargo in March 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships flying the Turkish flag through domestic ports amounted to 2.2 million tons during this period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 31.8 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 6.6 million tons of transit cargo in March 2022.
Turkish ports handled 98.6 million tons of cargo in 1Q2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 6.9 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 91.6 million tons.
