BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. A total of 350 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkiye in 2022, which is 113 companies more than in 2021, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
During the accounting period, along with the number of registered Azerbaijani companies, their aggregate capital also increased.
"In the reporting period, the aggregate capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Türkiye totaled 164.6 million Turkish liras ($8.7 million), while in 2021, this rate was 63.2 Turkish liras ($3.3 million)," said the statement.
The majority of Azerbaijani companies (291) were registered in Istanbul in 2022.
"The aggregate capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Istanbul totaled 131.3 million Turkish liras ($6.9 million)," said the statement.
As many as 28 companies from the total number of companies with Azerbaijani capital registered in Türkiye in 2022 operate in the export sector, while 180 companies operate in the field of wholesale and retail trade. The rest of the companies operate in other sectors of the economy.
