BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 8. The rearmament of Armenia by France is provocative, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Trend reports.

In an interview with journalists upon his return from Greece, he said that France only harms Armenia with these steps.

"Previously, France gave Armenia a lot of support. What was the result they got? Zero result. France was a co-chair of the Minsk Group. There are no results from its work, and now France, taking advantage of the situation, provokes Armenia again. What will happen if it sends armored vehicles? France will not achieve any results in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan has put an end to the occupation of its lands. What result will you get from sending these armored vehicles? The tanks, guns, and ammunition previously sent to Armenia have passed into the hands of Azerbaijan. They are just deceiving Armenia," Erdogan said.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on October 23 that France has helped Armenia improve its air defense capabilities through the sale of three GM 200 radars and future deliveries of Mistral anti-aircraft missiles. He also noted that France will help Armenia train its land defense forces and support Armenia's efforts to reform and modernize its armed forces.

The French and Armenian defense ministers signed an agreement on the sale and purchase of three GM 200 radars manufactured by Thales, as well as a memorandum of understanding on future deliveries of French Mistral short-range air defense missiles.
