The arrest of the employee of the Azerbaijani service of the Radio Azadliq, journalist Khadija Ismayilova is related to a complaint by a concrete person, Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (parliament) Bahar Muradova told reporters on Dec.8.

Baku City Sabail District Court issued a decision on Dec.5 to arrest the Azerbaijani journalist Khadija Ismayilova.

Earlier, Khadija Ismayilova was summoned to Baku City Prosecutor's Office. She was interrogated on the fact of suicide attempt of the former employee of Radio Azadliq and Meydan TV, Tural Mustafayev.

Tural Mustafayev drank rat poison with the aim of committing suicide on Oct.21 in the Seaside National Park. He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Muradova said the political assessment of this both within the country and beyond it is illegal, adding that this can have a negative impact on the investigation process.

At the same time, this issue is not so interesting for the society, since these are the personal problems between the sides, according to Muradova.

The vice-speaker added that hundreds, thousands of such crimes occur in the country, however, neither the society, nor foreign circles show interest in them and the US State Department doesn't express concern over these issues either.

Therefore, such attention to this issue is surprising and it hinders the work of the corresponding structures, said Muradova.
