An intergovernmental convention on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of evasion from income and capital taxes was signed following a meeting of the Turkmen-Hungarian economic cooperation commission in Budapest, Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said in a message June 7.

"Given the existing potential, the sides noted the need to take coordinated actions to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with an aim to increase the export-import operations, expand the range of the supplied goods and services, organize business forums and exhibitions, establish direct contacts between economic entities and business circles of both countries," said the message.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Hungary were established in 1992.

Products of Hungarian manufacturers, particularly agriculture goods, textiles and vehicles are in demand in Turkmenistan.

Hungary is interested in increasing imports of chemical industry and processed oil and gas products from Turkmenistan.
