European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht will today arrive in Tbilisi for the preparation of negotiations between Georgia and the EU on comprehensive free trade.
According to the Georgian Mission of the European Commission, the visit confirms the EU's readiness to deepen economic relations with Georgia and political ties with the Eastern Partnership countries.
The Georgian side considers this visit as a preparatory on the eve of the first round of free trade negotiations between Georgia and the EU, which will be held on March 26-30.
During the visit the European Commissioner will meet with Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri.
