Big German delegation to visit Iran

A big delegation headed by former chancellor of Germany, Gerhard Schroder will make a trip to Iran, IRNA reported Nov. 18.

The exact time of the visit hasn't been revealed yet.

The last time Schroder visited Tehran in 2009.

Germany is expected to establish extensive business relations with Iran once the economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic are lifted.

In 2014, exports between the two countries stood at 2.39 billion euros.

This figure is expected to increase to 10 billion euros in three or four years.

In July, German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel visited Iran.

After the nuclear deal was reached between Iran and the P5+1 (China, France, Russia, the UK, the US and Germany), Gabriel was the first Western politician of high-level to visit the Islamic Republic.

Today, 80 German companies operate in Iran.
