Seven expert groups conduct mine exploration in Iran

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation (IMIDRO) announced that the first phase of mine exploration operations has been conducted in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, in southeast Iran, by seven domestic expert groups.

Ali Asgharzadeh, manager of IMIDRO exploration activities said the operations were conducted in Sistan-Baluchestan Province for the first time with an aim of advancing exploration objectives specified during the president's visit to the province.

He said studies show that Sistan-Baluchestan is appropriate for mineral activities and has proper regions for the activists in this field and investment for development.

Asgharzadeh further remarked that mineral activities in the province will result in creation of job opportunities, improvement of technical and engineering capability of local companies, increase in per capita income in the province and increase in investment rate in the region and nearby provinces.

He said exploration activities included identification and preliminary sampling of the mines as well as the satellite project for exploration of antimony in the northern part of the province, adding that satellite study shows 16 promising points for the existence of this unique metal.
