Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Monday that continued consultations between Iran and Algeria would help resolve regional issues in line with meeting nations' interests, IRNA reported.

Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of the Algerian Parliament's Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Commission Ibrahim Bulhaye in Tehran on Monday.

Referring to historical and cultural commonalties between the two sides, Salehi said relations between Iran and Algeria are very good as both sides' officials are determined to broaden economic cooperation and relations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Algeria play a significant role in regional developments, he said and thanked the Algerian government for its support for Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

Referring to Iran's scientific progress, he voiced Iran's readiness to transfer it experiences in all fields to the Algerian government.

The Algerian envoy, for his part, expressed satisfaction with his visit to Iran and termed the two sides' negotiations as excellent.

It is incumbent upon the two sides' officials to help expand relations and cooperation mainly between the two parliaments, he said.

Lauding Iran's significant success and progress in various scientific fields, he voiced his country's readiness to exchange experiences with Iran in all fields.

Exchange of visits between the two sides officials ánd talks on regional and international developments would serve the two countries' interests, he said.
