Azerbaijani Consulate General in Los Angeles organized a reception on Azerbaijan's Republic Day in Regency Club.
The event was attended by 250 guests including the consular corps of various countries represented in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Sheriff Los Angeles County Lee Baca, official of the District of Los Angeles Lourdes Saab, the Azeri community in San Jose, Los Angeles and Orange County, the US-Azerbaijan Council (AAC), as well as representatives of Jewish, Georgian, Turkish and Iranian communities in the U.S. counties and cities, the Consulate General said.
Consul General Elin Suleymanov spoke about the historic significance of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and said that it was first to give Azerbaijan people freedom, independence, statehood, tolerance and national identity.
Sheriff Lee Baca, People's Artist of Azerbaijan Chingiz Sadigov, soloist Sabina Rakhcheyeva who performed at the event, representative of the International Pearl Fund Leila Ismayilova and Deputy Head of Protocol Service of district of Los Angeles Lourdes Saab were presented gifts at the event.
