Azerbaijani products are demonstrated at the 16th Russian agricultural exhibition Golden Autumn 2014 in Moscow on Oct. 8-11, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry said Oct. 8.

Around 14 Azerbaijani companies producing and processing agricultural products are participating in the exhibition. These companies are engaged in the sale of fruits and vegetables, various fruit juices, jams, tomato paste, etc.

The exhibition is important for Azerbaijani companies in terms of presenting their products, increasing exports, expanding opportunities to enter new markets, the report said.

Around 157,000 metric tons of fruits and vegetables were exported from Azerbaijan through the Daghestani border section this year.

Daghestan's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance said mostly potatoes and nuts are the goods imported from Azerbaijan.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $1.729 billion in January-July 2014. Russian products worth $1.345 billion were imported to Azerbaijan, while $383.8 million accounted for export.

Azerbaijan also imported such goods to Russia as natural gas, pipe for pumps and compressors, jet fuel, agricultural products (persimmons, tomatoes, potatoes, apples).

Russia in turn exported machinery, equipment and vehicles, foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials, metals and metal products, timber, pulp and paper to Azerbaijan.
