Compensations were paid in accordance with compulsory third party liability insurance of motor vehicles in 98 cases during the first half of 2019, Trend reports referring to Compulsory Insurance Bureau of Azerbaijan.
Payments made during six months of the current year are 30 percent less than those made during to the same period last year.
The bureau reports that the payment of compensation was refused in 25 cases, and 51 cases are under consideration.
During the reporting period, 138,000 manats were paid in 35 fatal cases, more than 28,000 manats were paid in 18 cases of serious injuries, and about 62,000 manats were paid in the remaining cases (medium and light injuries and others), with total payments amounting to nearly 230,000 manats.
According to the bureau, this year the number of insured vehicles has significantly increased, which in turn led to a reduction in compensation payments.
